The Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association of Nigeria (DAPPMAN) has reiterated its call for the availability of petroleum products at fair and reasonable prices across the country. The association emphasized that ensuring affordable petroleum products is critical to stabilizing the economy, supporting businesses, and easing the financial burden on millions of Nigerians.
Speaking on behalf of the association, DAPPMAN noted that the current market conditions, coupled with rising global oil prices and operational challenges, have led to an increase in the cost of petroleum products. The association urged stakeholders, including the Federal Government, regulatory agencies, and industry players, to work together to address the factors driving price instability.
“We are committed to ensuring that Nigerians have access to petroleum products at prices that reflect fairness and economic reality,” a DAPPMAN spokesperson stated. “Our objective is to create a sustainable supply chain that benefits both the marketers and the end-users. However, we need a collaborative framework that tackles issues such as forex scarcity, high operational costs, and infrastructural bottlenecks.”
DAPPMAN called on the government to implement supportive policies that will enable marketers to import, store, and distribute products efficiently. The association also appealed for improved foreign exchange access and incentives to reduce the cost of product importation and distribution.
While acknowledging the complexities of the global oil market, DAPPMAN assured Nigerians of its unwavering commitment to maintaining a steady supply of petroleum products. The association emphasized that reasonable pricing is not only a matter of economic necessity but also a step toward national stability and growth.
