Kano State Government Donates ₦1 Million and Food Items to Family of Slain Police Officer

In a commendable show of solidarity and appreciation for the sacrifices of security operatives, the Kano State Government has presented a welfare support package worth over ₦1 million to the family of late Inspector Sani Haladu, a police officer who died in the line of duty.


The support package, presented on behalf of the state government, includes a cash donation of ₦1,000,000 and assorted food items comprising five bags of rice, six bags of spaghetti, six bags of macaroni, and two 25-litre jerry cans of vegetable oil. 


The items were delivered at the Kano State Police Command Headquarters by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Honourable Mohammed Tajo Othman.


Late Inspector Sani Haladu passed away on March 27, 2026, while serving the nation. Described as a dedicated, loyal, and gallant officer, he served the people of Kano State with diligence and commitment until his untimely death. 


Receiving the donation on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Bakori, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations), Lawal Isa Mani, expressed profound appreciation to the Kano State Government for the timely gesture.


“The action of the State Government is highly commendable and a clear demonstration of the existing cordial relationship between the Government and the Police,” Mani stated. He noted that the support would boost the morale of serving officers and reassure them that their sacrifices are recognized and valued.


Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Bakori also commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and the entire Kano State Government for their consistent support towards the welfare of police officers and their families. He reiterated the Command’s unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property across the state’s 44 Local Government Areas and called on the public to continue providing credible intelligence to enhance security. 


This initiative underscores the Kano State Government’s dedication to the welfare of security personnel who risk their lives daily to maintain peace and order.
