Nottingham Forest Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Sean Dyche as the club’s new Head Coach. Dyche has signed a contract that will see him lead the team until the summer of 2027, ushering in a new era of leadership at the City Ground.
The 54-year-old Englishman, known for his tactical discipline and defensive organization, replaces Ange Postecoglou, who was relieved of his duties following a string of disappointing results. Dyche’s appointment follows a thorough recruitment process led by Global Head of Football Edu Gaspar and Global Technical Director George Syrianos.
This appointment marks a homecoming of sorts for Dyche, who began his football journey as a youth player at Nottingham Forest, though he never made a first-team appearance. Now, decades later, he returns to the club with over 330 Premier League matches under his belt as a manager, having previously led Burnley and Everton.
Forest’s leadership praised Dyche’s experience and character, stating, “Sean brings the perfect blend of tactical acumen, resilience, and leadership that aligns with our club’s ambitions and values.” His coaching style, built on defensive solidity and strength from set pieces, is expected to complement the current squad’s attributes.
Joining Dyche at Forest are long-time collaborators Ian Woan and Steve Stone, both of whom played for the club during their careers. Together, the trio brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of Forest’s culture and fanbase.
Dyche will take charge of his first match on Thursday night as Nottingham Forest faces FC Porto in the Europa League. The club and its supporters are hopeful that his leadership will stabilize performance and guide the team to long-term success.
