A former aide to Senator Adams Oshiomhole has accused the former Edo State Governor and current lawmaker of allowing personal animosity and political rivalry to cloud his judgment and public conduct, particularly in relation to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
In a strongly worded statement released on Monday, the ex-aide—who requested anonymity—claimed that Oshiomhole’s recent remarks and political maneuvers reflect a deep-seated “hate and fear” of Atiku, which have allegedly influenced his stance on national issues and opposition politics.
“Oshiomhole has unfortunately allowed his personal disdain for Atiku to consume him. His actions and utterances are no longer driven by principle but by a desperate attempt to undermine a perceived rival,” the former aide stated.
The comments come amid heightened political tensions following a series of public exchanges between key figures in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Oshiomhole, known for his fiery rhetoric and combative style, has been a vocal critic of Atiku, especially in the aftermath of the 2023 presidential elections.
Political observers say the statement from the ex-aide may signal deeper rifts within the APC and raise questions about the tone of political discourse in Nigeria.
