A series of overnight Russian missile and drone attacks across Ukraine have left at least four civilians dead and twenty others injured, according to Ukrainian officials. The strikes targeted multiple regions, including the capital Kyiv and the eastern Dnipropetrovsk area, causing widespread damage to residential buildings, emergency infrastructure, and public facilities.

Two fatalities and nine injuries were reported in Kyiv, where ballistic missiles struck non-residential buildings, igniting fires and shattering windows across several districts. Emergency responders worked through the night to contain the blazes and evacuate affected residents.

In the eastern region, a woman was killed and seven others wounded, with additional casualties reported in southern and central Ukraine. The Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed damage to fire trucks, shops, and homes, highlighting the indiscriminate nature of the attacks.

The latest wave of strikes comes as the Russia-Ukraine war nears its fourth year, with Kyiv’s Western allies intensifying diplomatic and economic pressure on Moscow. Sanctions have been expanded, and calls for increased military support to Ukraine have grown louder in European capitals.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the attacks, calling them “cowardly acts of terror” and urging the international community to respond with “decisive action and unwavering solidarity.”

The Ukrainian Air Force reported that several drones and missiles were intercepted, but acknowledged that the scale and coordination of the assault overwhelmed some defense systems. Authorities have urged citizens to remain vigilant and follow safety protocols during air raid alerts.
