The Oyo State Government has announced the approval of ₦38.7 billion for the reconstruction of the 30-kilometre Igboho–Kishi Road in the Oke-Ogun area, marking a significant step in Governor Seyi Makinde’s infrastructure development agenda.

The decision was reached during the State Executive Council meeting held at the Governor’s Office in Ibadan. The Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade, disclosed that the road project aligns with the administration’s commitment to link all six geo-political zones of the state through durable and accessible road networks.

“This project is not just about asphalt and concrete,” Oyelade stated. “It’s about connecting communities, boosting local economies, and fulfilling the promise of inclusive development across Oyo State.”

The reconstruction of the Igboho–Kishi Road is part of a broader infrastructure push that also includes the 38.9-kilometre Ido–Akufo–Eruwa Road in the Ibarapa axis. These projects are expected to stimulate economic growth, improve access to essential services, and reduce travel time for residents and businesses.

Governor Makinde reiterated his administration’s resolve to prioritize infrastructure as a catalyst for development, stating that strategic investments in road networks will unlock the economic potential of underserved regions.
