The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is delighted to announce that the Super Eagles of Nigeria will take on two formidable European opponents in international friendly matches during the June 2026 FIFA international window.

The Super Eagles will first battle Poland on Tuesday, 3 June 2026, at the iconic PGE Narodowy Stadium in Warsaw. Four days later, on Tuesday, 10 June 2026, Nigeria will face Portugal in a mouth-watering clash on Portuguese soil, with the exact venue to be confirmed in the coming days.

These fixtures form part of the NFF’s strategic preparations as the three-time African champions rebuild momentum following their absence from the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The matches will provide Head Coach Eric Chelle and his technical team with vital opportunities to assess squad depth, test tactical systems, and blend experienced campaigners with emerging talents ahead of upcoming assignments, including the defence of the Unity Cup title in London later this month.

NFF FIFA Match Agent, Jairo Pachon of Eurodata Sport, who facilitated the fixtures, expressed confidence in the value of the encounters: “These are excellent tests for the Super Eagles against strong European sides. Poland and Portugal will push Nigeria to the limit, helping us fine-tune our preparations and build team cohesion.”

The fixture against Portugal will also serve as the Seleção das Quinas’ final warm-up match before they head to the 2026 FIFA World Cup co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The Super Eagles recently concluded a successful international window in Antalya, Turkey, recording a 2-1 victory over FIFA World Cup-bound Iran and a 2-2 draw with Jordan.

NFF President, Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau, said: “We are excited about these high-calibre friendlies. Facing Poland and Portugal will give our players invaluable exposure to top-level European football and help us continue the positive momentum we saw in Turkey. The Super Eagles remain committed to restoring Nigeria’s pride on the global stage.” Tickets and broadcast details for both matches will be released in due course.
