President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to strengthening security operations in Zamfara State, pledging increased support to address the persistent insecurity in the region.

The assurance was given during a high-level meeting with the Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal, held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The meeting focused on evaluating the current security situation in the state, reviewing progress made, and identifying critical gaps requiring urgent intervention.

President Tinubu emphasized the Federal Government’s resolve to restore peace and stability, announcing plans for the deployment of additional troops and provision of essential equipment to enhance ongoing security operations.

According to a statement issued following the meeting, discussions centered on consolidating gains recorded in recent security efforts while scaling up strategies to combat banditry and related threats. The President reiterated his administration’s commitment to working closely with state authorities to ensure effective coordination and operational efficiency.

Governor Lawal expressed appreciation for the Federal Government’s continued support, noting that strengthened collaboration between federal and state actors remains critical to achieving lasting peace and fostering economic recovery in Zamfara.

The renewed commitment underscores the Federal Government’s broader strategy to tackle insecurity across Nigeria’s North-West region, with Zamfara identified as a priority area requiring sustained military and logistical intervention.
