Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has been named the EA SPORTS Player of the Season for the 2025/26 Premier League campaign. This marks the first time the Portuguese midfielder has claimed the prestigious individual honour.
Fernandes edged out strong competition, including Arsenal’s Gabriel Magalhães and Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White, to win the award voted for by fans and experts alike. His standout performances have been instrumental for Manchester United throughout a competitive season.
The 31-year-old delivered a sensational campaign, recording 8 goals and a Premier League record-equalling 20 assists in 34 appearances. Known for his vision, leadership, and creativity, Fernandes consistently created scoring opportunities and drove United’s attacking play, earning widespread acclaim as one of the league’s most influential players.
This victory adds to an impressive list of accolades for Fernandes this season, including the Football Writers’ Association (FWA) Footballer of the Year award. He becomes the first Manchester United player to win the Premier League Player of the Season since Nemanja Vidić in the 2010/11 season.
On receiving the award, Fernandes expressed his gratitude: “It’s a great honour to be named Player of the Season. I want to thank my teammates, the coaching staff, and the fans who have supported me throughout the year. This is for all of us at Manchester United.”
The Premier League congratulated Fernandes on his achievement, highlighting his consistency and impact as key factors in the voting decision.
