The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kebbi State has formally affirmed Dr. Abubakar Malami, SAN, former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, as the party’s consensus governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections.
This affirmation was reached through wide consultations among party leaders, stakeholders, and members of the ADC in Kebbi State. The decision was announced in a statement issued on Sunday, May 24, 2026, by Mohammed Bello Doka, Special Assistant on Media to Dr. Abubakar Malami, SAN.
According to the statement, the Kebbi State ADC leadership expressed strong confidence in Dr. Malami’s capacity to deliver good governance, tackle insecurity, revive agriculture, improve healthcare and education, and drive overall development in the state.
The affirmation also included other key candidates, notably: Maj. Gen. Aminu Bande (Rtd) as the Senatorial Candidate for Kebbi Central.
Dr. Abubakar Malami, SAN, while expressing gratitude for the overwhelming support, reiterated his commitment to rescuing Kebbi State from what he described as current misgovernance. He pledged to prioritize security, economic revitalization, youth empowerment, and infrastructural development if elected governor.
The party described the emergence of Dr. Malami as a unifying move that will strengthen the ADC’s chances of victory in the 2027 gubernatorial election in Kebbi State.
