Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has formally presented the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the 2027 election, Dr. Jamilu Isiyaku Gwamna, to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The presentation, which took place on June 21, 2026, follows Dr. Gwamna’s emergence as the APC flagbearer after securing an overwhelming victory in the party’s direct primary election. Governor Yahaya led a high-powered delegation to the Villa to affirm party unity and demonstrate strong support for the candidate ahead of the 2027 polls.
Governor Yahaya described the move as symbolic of the APC’s cohesion in Gombe State and a commitment to building on the developmental foundations already laid in infrastructure, economic reforms, and good governance.
“Presenting Dr. Gwamna to the President underscores our unity and shared vision for a more prosperous Gombe State,” Governor Yahaya stated.
President Tinubu commended Governor Yahaya for his exemplary leadership and urged both the Governor and the governorship candidate to maintain unity, ensure continuity in governance, and consolidate ongoing economic reforms for the peace and prosperity of Gombe State.
Dr. Jamilu Isiyaku Gwamna expressed gratitude for the confidence reposed in him by the party and pledged to work closely with all stakeholders to deliver good governance and sustain the progress recorded under Governor Yahaya’s administration.
