Senator Adams Oshiomhole, representing Edo North, has strongly defended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, asserting that the President possesses the political will in abundance to tackle and end insecurity in Nigeria.
Speaking on Friday, Senator Oshiomhole emphasized that the rising insecurity in the country is not due to a lack of political will on the part of the President. He pointed to Tinubu’s significant financial commitments to security, administrative actions including the replacement of service chiefs, and direct orders to the armed forces such as the declaration of a state of emergency in affected areas as clear evidence of the President’s resolve.
“The President has political will in abundance,” Oshiomhole stated. “What more political will do you need? He has provided the necessary resources and leadership.”
The senator noted that insecurity did not begin under the current administration and urged critics to appreciate the efforts being made at the highest level. He, however, acknowledged challenges in the implementation of directives at lower ranks within the security architecture and called for better synergy and accountability down the chain of command.
Senator Oshiomhole reiterated that President Tinubu is committed to restoring lasting peace and security across the nation and is doing enough within the constraints of governance.
This statement comes amid ongoing public discourse on the security situation in parts of the country.
