A kidnapped family, including a pregnant woman, her children, and a sibling, has been safely released in Igboho, Oyo State, following a firm two-hour ultimatum issued by Yoruba activist Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho.

The victims were reportedly abducted overnight on Friday by suspected kidnappers who demanded a ransom of N150 million. In response, Igboho confronted community leaders at a local palace, issuing a clear ultimatum for the unconditional release of the abducted family within two hours, with no ransom to be paid. He warned of decisive action if the demand was not met.

According to reports, the victims were freed unharmed shortly after the ultimatum expired, sparking widespread jubilation among residents of Igboho. Videos circulating on social media captured crowds singing, dancing, and celebrating the safe return of the family.

Igboho, who has been vocal about addressing insecurity in the region, emphasized his restraint following appeals from traditional rulers. He also extended the ultimatum's spirit to other abducted victims in the area, urging their immediate release amid ongoing kidnapping concerns in Oyo State.

"This development highlights the power of decisive community action in the face of rising criminality," said a local resident who witnessed the celebrations. "Igboho has once again stood up for the people of his hometown."

The incident comes against the backdrop of persistent security challenges in parts of Oyo State, including other high-profile abductions. Authorities have not yet issued an official statement on the circumstances surrounding the release.
