Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, the embattled Director-General of the disputed Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), has firmly denied ever meeting Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, in person, as allegations of a fake government agency continue to dominate national discourse.
In a statement responding to recent developments, Adeyemi addressed claims surrounding the agency, which the Presidency has repeatedly described as non-existent despite its appearance in the 2026 appropriation bill. He emphasized that his interactions, if any, with high-level officials were not direct or personal.
“I never met Gbajabiamila in person,” Adeyemi asserted. “All claims and communications were handled through appropriate channels, and I stand by the need for transparency and a full investigation into this matter.”
The controversy escalated after Adeyemi’s June 25 press conference, where he raised questions about the agency’s status, budget allocations, and alleged involvement of top officials. In response, Gbajabiamila’s legal team issued a strongly worded cease-and-desist letter, demanding a retraction, public apology, and threatening a ₦10 billion defamation suit along with possible criminal prosecution. The letter explicitly states that Gbajabiamila has had “absolutely no relationship or interaction” with Adeyemi.
Adeyemi, who faces ongoing criminal charges related to forgery and operating the alleged fictitious entity, has maintained his innocence and called for an independent probe. He previously argued that an agency listed in the national budget with allocated funds cannot simply be dismissed as fake.
Supporters of Adeyemi have urged calm and due process, while the Presidency continues to distance itself from the entity and any associated activities.
Adeyemi reiterated his readiness to face the courts and provide further evidence to clear his name, emphasizing accountability and the rule of law.
