The Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) and Governor of Imo State, His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodimma, has declared that all 31 governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are united in their commitment to secure victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking to journalists after a high-level meeting between the APC governors and President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Governor Uzodimma announced that the state chief executives have firmly agreed to deliver their respective states for the President’s re-election bid.
“What we have agreed with Mr. President is that he will be delivered. All the APC governors are solidly behind Mr. President. To that extent, governors are expected to deliver their states,” Uzodimma stated. “All 31 of us are in total agreement, and we are united. We are supporting Mr. President’s re-election and we are supporting the success of the election.”
The Governor, who also chairs the Progressive Governors’ Forum, explained that the responsibility for delivering the election rests primarily on the shoulders of governors at the subnational level. He noted that success would result from the combined effort of grassroots mobilisation in the states and coordinated push at the national level.
Uzodimma revealed that President Tinubu formally briefed the governors on the constitution of the Presidential Campaign Council, which the governors unanimously endorsed. He added that the governors will identify the specific requirements needed to conduct successful and vibrant campaigns in their various states, working closely with the APC leadership and other party stakeholders.
Beyond politics, the meeting also focused on governance priorities. The governors discussed measures to reduce the cost of living, strengthen food security and agriculture, lower transportation costs nationwide, and ensure that the benefits of ongoing economic reforms reach ordinary Nigerians.
Governor Uzodimma emphasised the unity of purpose among the APC governors, affirming their collective resolve to support the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda and ensure a decisive electoral victory in 2027.
