Katsina Police Command Presents N28 Million to Families of Deceased Officers

The Katsina State Police Command on Tuesday presented cheques totalling N28,012,584.70 to the families of 25 police officers who died in the line of duty.

Commissioner of Police Ali Umar Fage presented the cheques at the Conference Hall of the Command Headquarters in Katsina. The presentation formed part of a welfare package initiated by Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Rilwan Disu for families of officers who paid the supreme price in service to the nation.

While addressing the beneficiaries, Commissioner of Police Ali Umar Fage expressed condolences to the families and prayed for the peaceful repose of the deceased officers. He described the fallen personnel as gallant men who served the nation with dedication and stressed that their sacrifices would not be forgotten.

He urged the beneficiaries to use the financial assistance judiciously to meet their immediate needs and secure their future. He also commended the Inspector-General of Police for his commitment to the welfare of serving personnel and the families of deceased officers.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Alkasim Salisu expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police and the Katsina Commissioner of Police for the gesture.

“We are grateful to the Inspector-General of Police and the Commissioner of Police for this kind gesture. We assure you that the money will be used judiciously,” he said.
