In a powerful display of spiritual solidarity and political goodwill, over 1,000 Islamic scholars gathered in Kano to offer special prayers for the continued success and leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, with particular emphasis on the political aspirations of Senator Jibrin Barau ahead of the 2027 elections.
The prayer session, held in Kiru Local Government Area, was organized by Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin Kofa, a prominent lawmaker and political bridge-builder, who emphasized the importance of unity and divine guidance in Nigeria’s political journey. The clerics recited the Holy Qur’an 1,101 times, invoking peace, progress, and stability for the nation.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Kofa reaffirmed his commitment to fostering harmony between key political figures, notably President Tinubu and NNPP leader Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso. He described Barau as a “pillar of Northern politics” and expressed confidence in his leadership potential as the 2027 elections approached.
“This gathering is not just about politics—it’s about invoking divine blessings for leaders who have shown commitment to Nigeria’s development. We believe that with prayer and unity, the future holds promise,” said Kofa.
The event also featured community outreach, with over 5,000 schoolchildren receiving educational kits as part of Kofa’s ongoing support for grassroots development.
