The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has once again underscored its unwavering dedication to the welfare of its personnel, both serving and retired, while urging heightened vigilance in the face of evolving security challenges.
During a commissioning ceremony held at NAF Base Kano, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, declared the welfare of NAF personnel as “non-negotiable,” unveiling nine newly renovated accommodation blocks designed to provide dignified living conditions for officers, airmen, and airwomen.
“These accommodations are not just buildings; they symbolize our unwavering commitment to the welfare of our personnel,” stated Air Marshal Abubakar. “When personnel return from demanding missions, they deserve living conditions that reflect the value we place on their service.”
The newly commissioned facilities include 30 one-bedroom Single Officers' Quarters and 60 two-bedroom Non-Commissioned Officers' Quarters. The CAS emphasized responsible occupancy and maintenance to ensure long-term sustainability.
These initiatives form part of a broader strategy to enhance infrastructure, healthcare, education, and career development across all NAF bases.
Air Marshal Abubakar also issued a call for vigilance, stressing the importance of alertness and proactive security measures amid rising threats. He urged personnel to remain committed to duty and uphold the values of discipline, integrity, and patriotism.
