President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrived in Lagos today on a working visit aimed at deepening collaboration with key players in Nigeria’s private sector and senior government officials. The visit comes as part of preparations for the country’s 65th Independence Anniversary, which will be marked with modest celebrations nationwide.
The President’s arrival follows his attendance at the coronation of Oba Rashidi Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland in Oyo State, where he reaffirmed his commitment to cultural heritage and national unity.
During his stay in Lagos, President Tinubu is scheduled to hold high-level meetings with prominent business leaders and economic stakeholders to discuss strategies for accelerating Nigeria’s economic recovery and fostering inclusive growth. These engagements are expected to focus on investment opportunities, job creation, and the implementation of key reforms that have begun to yield positive results.
“As part of the Independence anniversary activities, President Tinubu will also inaugurate the remodelled National Theatre, now renamed the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts,” said Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.
The President will continue his working tour with a visit to Imo State on Tuesday, September 30, where he will commission several infrastructural projects executed by Governor Hope Uzodimma.
President Tinubu emphasized that the sacrifices made by Nigerians over the past two years are beginning to bear fruit. “There is no light at the end of the tunnel,” he said, attributing the turnaround to the resilience and patience of the Nigerian people.
