The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) parish in Lagos has launched an inspiring initiative to support academic excellence by awarding scholarships to 50 deserving students from underprivileged backgrounds. This program underscores the church's commitment to empowering the next generation through education, bridging gaps in access to quality learning opportunities.
The scholarships, valued at a total of ₦10 million, were presented during a special ceremony held at the parish headquarters on September 20, 2025. Recipients, selected based on academic merit, financial need, and community involvement, range from secondary school pupils to university undergraduates. The awards cover tuition fees, books, and other essential educational expenses for the upcoming academic year.
Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of RCCG, expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative: "Education is a powerful tool for transformation, and as a church, we are called to uplift our communities. These scholarships are not just financial aid; they are investments in the future leaders who will drive positive change in Nigeria and beyond."
Beneficiaries shared heartfelt stories of how the support will impact their lives. One recipient, a 17-year-old aspiring engineer named Aisha Mohammed, said, "This scholarship means I can pursue my dreams without the burden of financial worries. I'm grateful to RCCG for believing in us."
The program is part of RCCG's broader Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, which include health outreaches, vocational training, and youth mentorship. By focusing on education, the parish aims to reduce dropout rates and promote skill development in line with national goals for sustainable development.
