The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has issued a strong warning to the general public and applicants participating in its 2025 recruitment exercise to disregard viral social media posts and unauthorized publications claiming to show shortlisted candidates or recruitment schedules. These posts, the Service confirms, are fraudulent and did not originate from any official NCS communication channel.

In a statement titled “Unverified Social Media Post on 2025 Nigeria Customs Service Recruitment Exercise”, the NCS emphasized that the recruitment process remains transparent, merit-based, and consistent with global best practices. The Service urged Nigerians to rely solely on its official website and verified social media handles for accurate updates.

The NCS also condemned the circulation of a fake press release that falsely announced a Computer-Based Test (CBT) scheduled for July 2025. Officials clarified that such information is entirely fabricated and designed to mislead applicants.

Speaking on behalf of the Service, the Public Relations Officer stated: “We urge all Nigerians to be vigilant and avoid falling victim to online recruitment scams. The only credible source of information is our official portal and verified communication channels.”
