Tennis legend Venus Williams has been granted a wildcard to compete in the main draw of the Australian Open 2026. At 45 years old, she will become the oldest woman ever to play in the tournament's main draw.

Venus, a seven time Grand Slam singles champion, is excited to return to Melbourne Park. She has won five Wimbledon titles and two US Open crowns during her amazing career. This wildcard is the eighth and final one given out for the women's singles event.

"I am thankful for this chance to play at the Australian Open again," said Venus Williams. "Tennis has been my life, and I love competing at the highest level. I can't wait to step on the court and give my best."
