British-Nigerian heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua has honored the memory of two cherished friends and team members, Sina Ghami and Latif "Latz" Ayodele, by getting their names permanently tattooed on his body.
The touching tribute comes in the wake of a devastating car crash on December 29, 2025, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State, Nigeria, which claimed the lives of the two men.
Ghami, Joshua's long-time strength and conditioning coach, and Ayodele, a close personal trainer and friend since childhood, were traveling in a Lexus SUV with Joshua when the vehicle collided with a stationary truck. Joshua, who was a passenger in the vehicle, sustained injuries but survived the accident.
The incident left the boxing world and Joshua's inner circle in profound grief.
In recent weeks, Joshua visited Fulham Tattoo London for the ink session, where the names "LATZ" and "SINA" were added beneath an existing outline of Africa on his right bicep.
The studio shared images of the visit, describing it as an unexpected "walk-in" from the two-time heavyweight champion of the world.
"This is a deeply personal and permanent way for Anthony to carry the memory of Sina and Latz with him every day," a source close to Joshua said.
"They were more than colleagues they were brothers. This tribute reflects the unbreakable bond they shared and Joshua's commitment to keeping their legacy alive."
Joshua has previously spoken emotionally about the loss, describing it as traumatic and reaffirming his dedication to supporting the families of his late friends. In a heartfelt video shared earlier this year, he thanked the public for their overwhelming support and expressed the profound impact of the tragedy.
The tattoos have sparked an outpouring of admiration from fans, fellow athletes, and the boxing community, who have praised Joshua for his strength, loyalty, and heartfelt gesture amid personal pain.
Anthony Joshua continues to train and prepare for his future in the ring while honoring those who were integral to his journey. He remains grateful for the continued love and messages from supporters worldwide during this difficult time.
