Speaking to the press after the meeting in Abuja, the leader of the faction and former Governor of Rivers State, Barr. Nyesom Wike, stated that the move was necessitated by the need to prioritize the stability of the party and the interest of the Nigerian people over personal or sectional ambitions.
"After extensive consultations with our leaders, elders, and supporters across the country, we have resolved to close ranks and end all forms of internal wrangling," Wike said. We have chosen the path of peace and stability."
