Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah of Enugu State has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s policies for freeing up resources and enabling accelerated development across the state, stating that federal support is empowering the government to deliver more impactful projects for the people of Enugu.
Speaking during a recent appreciation visit and in subsequent remarks, Governor Mbah highlighted how the Tinubu administration’s bold economic reforms and increased allocations to subnational governments have been instrumental in Enugu State’s ongoing infrastructural transformation and service delivery initiatives.
“Tinubu’s support is helping us to do more for our people,” Governor Mbah said. “It would have been impossible, to say the least, for us as a state to have done things at the scale we did without some of the bold and courageous policies of Mr. President. What the policies of Mr. President did for subnationals is largely to free up resources.
The Governor credited the President’s interventions in key areas including security, education, healthcare, agriculture, and road infrastructure as critical enablers of Enugu’s ambitious development agenda. He noted that these supports, combined with private sector involvement and technological investments in security, have allowed the state to record landmark achievements since assuming office.
Governor Mbah, who assumed office in May 2023 with a vision to grow Enugu’s economy from $4.4 billion to $30 billion, emphasized that the enhanced federal-state collaboration is yielding tangible results in improving the quality of life for residents.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to purposeful governance and called for continued partnership with the Federal Government to sustain the momentum of progress in Enugu State and the South East region.
