Edo Governor Declares Strong Support for President Tinubu, Blames Opposition for Insecurity

Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has issued a strong message of solidarity with President Bola Tinubu, declaring that no amount of insecurity or political maneuvering will create a vacancy in Aso Rock ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking at the All Progressives Congress (APC) flag-off for local government elections in Edo South Senatorial District, Governor Okpebholo accused certain opposition elements of sponsoring insecurity across the country as a deliberate strategy to distract and undermine the Tinubu administration.

“There is no vacancy in Aso Rock. They can even kidnap all of us  yes, there is no vacancy in Aso Rock,” the Governor stated emphatically.

He further noted that promoting insecurity would not translate into political seats for the opposition in the Senate, House of Representatives, or the Presidency. The Governor described the recent surge in insecurity as “the handiwork of the opposition,” while calling for the immediate release of abducted individuals, including the 39 pupils and seven teachers kidnapped from schools in Oyo State.

Governor Okpebholo praised President Tinubu’s ongoing reforms, including the removal of fuel subsidies, and urged Nigerians to remain patient as the benefits of these policies materialize for the greater good of the nation.

The Governor’s remarks underscore the APC’s resolve to maintain strong leadership at the federal level and continue delivering good governance despite challenges.
