The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has officially announced global Afrobeats superstar Davido as one of the lead performers for the highly anticipated United States Countdown Concert, part of the official FIFA World Cup 2026™ Countdown Concert series.
Davido will share the stage with Diplo’s Major Lazer, with additional artists to be announced soon. The concert is scheduled for Tuesday, June 10, 2026, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. PT.
This event forms part of a broader series of Countdown Concerts across the host nations Canada, Mexico, and the United States building excitement ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026™, which will be co-hosted by the three countries.
“Davido’s electrifying energy and massive global appeal make him the perfect artist to help celebrate the countdown to the world’s greatest football tournament,” said a FIFA spokesperson. “His performance will bring the vibrant sounds of Afrobeats to football fans across the globe, uniting music and sport in true World Cup spirit.”
Davido, whose real name is David Adeleke, is no stranger to the FIFA World Cup stage, having previously performed at the closing ceremony of the 2022 tournament in Qatar. He is also featured on the official FIFA World Cup 2026 album, including the track “No Place Like Home” alongside Major Lazer and Nelly Furtado.
The Los Angeles Countdown Concert will feature a dynamic blend of music, football culture, and fan entertainment. The event will be livestreamed live on TikTok, with on-demand viewing available afterward via Vumelive PPV.
