Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, has called on all eligible residents of Kogi State to immediately register and obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) before the July 10, 2026 deadline set by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

In a public awareness message issued on Friday, the senator emphasised the importance of active participation in the ongoing voter registration and voter information update exercise ahead of the 2027 general elections. She particularly appealed to youths and first-time voters to seize the opportunity to have their voices heard in Nigeria’s democratic process.

“Your vote is your voice,” Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan stated. “I urge all Kogi State indigenous sons and daughters, especially our youths and first-time voters, to participate actively in the ongoing PVC registration exercise. No responsible citizen should be left out of the electoral process.”

She encouraged those who have attained the voting age of 18 to register without delay, while urging individuals whose voter information needs correction or updating to take advantage of the exercise before the deadline expires.

The senator described voter registration as a civic duty and a critical step towards ensuring credible elections and accountable governance in Kogi State and Nigeria at large. She called on community leaders, youth groups, women associations, and religious organisations to mobilise their members to INEC offices and designated registration centres across the state.

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan reaffirmed her commitment to strengthening democratic participation and urged Kogi residents to exercise their franchise responsibly for the betterment of the state.
