President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called for a deeper and more collaborative partnership between the Federal Government and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) to accelerate national development, promote good governance, and address critical challenges facing Nigeria.
Speaking during a high-level engagement with leaders of prominent civil society groups at the State House in Abuja, President Tinubu emphasized that effective governance requires the active involvement of citizens and independent organizations that serve as vital bridges between government and the people.
“The partnership between government and civil society is not optional it is essential,” President Tinubu stated. “We must work together more closely to deliver real results for Nigerians in areas such as poverty reduction, healthcare, education, security, and economic empowerment.”
The President highlighted the important role CSOs play in promoting transparency, accountability, human rights, and grassroots development. He assured civil society leaders of his administration’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for their operations while encouraging them to align their initiatives with national priorities outlined in the Renewed Hope Agenda.
President Tinubu urged civil society organisations to bring forward innovative ideas, constructive feedback, and data-driven solutions to help shape policies that directly impact ordinary citizens. He also called for strengthened monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to ensure that interventions deliver measurable impact across the country.
In response, civil society leaders commended the President’s openness and expressed readiness to deepen collaboration, particularly in promoting democratic values, sustainable development, and inclusive growth.
