The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his supporters are fully prepared to counter any “antics” by opposition parties ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking during the commissioning of a water supply network to Bwari Satellite Town in the FCT  part of ongoing projects marking President Tinubu’s third-year anniversary in office  Wike dismissed suggestions that opposition figures could simply “wake up one morning” and claim the presidency. He emphasized that producing Nigeria’s president requires more than noise and grandstanding.

“I have told people who say that they want to be in power, you have heard it, it’s not ‘chochocho.’ To be president is not chochocho, you don’t wake up early in the morning and say that you want to be president, no it doesn’t happen that way,” Wike stated. “So we are prepared, the president is prepared, and everybody who has what it takes.”

The Minister highlighted the tangible achievements of the Tinubu administration in the FCT, noting that Tuesday’s event represented the 50th official project commissioning since the President assumed office in 2023. He pointed to significant infrastructure developments, including water projects in satellite towns and extensive road completions in areas like Ushafa and Bwari.

Wike further revealed plans for additional project commissions before the end of the year and into early 2027, underscoring the administration’s commitment to delivering results for Nigerians.

The event in Bwari drew a large turnout of residents, reflecting public appreciation for the developmental strides under President Tinubu’s leadership.
