Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umar Radda, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to harnessing population dynamics for sustainable growth through robust, data-driven planning and policy implementation.
In a message to mark World Population Day 2026, Governor Radda emphasized that population growth should be viewed as both a challenge and an opportunity. He directed all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to align their 2026 work plans with current and accurate population data to ensure targeted and effective service delivery.
“Population data is the foundation for meaningful development. We must plan with precision, prioritizing sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture, and youth empowerment to turn our demographic strength into a dividend for Katsina State,” Governor Radda stated.
The Governor highlighted ongoing initiatives in health, education, and food security that leverage data to address key population-related issues, including child nutrition, maternal health, and skills development for young people. He called for stronger collaboration with federal agencies, development partners, and stakeholders to conduct timely data collection and analysis.
This commitment aligns with the global theme for World Population Day, which focuses on realizing the hopes and aspirations of young people through investment in their education, health, and economic opportunities.
Governor Radda assured residents that his administration will continue to implement people-centered programs that harness the state’s youthful population for long-term prosperity, while addressing challenges such as unemployment, infrastructure needs, and access to essential services.
