Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has declared that the landmark infrastructure projects being delivered by his administration will serve as strong campaign assets for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.

The governor made the statement on Monday while inaugurating the reconstructed 19.79-kilometre Buguma-Degema-Abonnema Road, a major transport corridor linking communities across Asari-Toru, Degema, and Akuku-Toru Local Government Areas of the state.

Fubara said the completed projects would give the party concrete achievements to present to the electorate during campaigns.

“Very soon, we’ll be going round to campaign for our party. Movement will be easy. When we get there, I can boldly say, ‘Support my candidate, support my party because I have done this, I have done that, and I’m going to do that,’” the governor stated.

He noted that the Buguma-Degema-Abonnema Road, whose rehabilitation contract was awarded in September 2024, would reduce insecurity, cut travel time, and improve the socio-economic lives of residents in the three local government areas.

The governor emphasised that the project forms part of a broader series of people-oriented developments  including roads, bridges, healthcare facilities, and educational infrastructure  currently being commissioned across the state.

Fubara, who recently reaffirmed his membership of the APC, expressed confidence that the tangible dividends of governance delivered under his watch would strengthen public support for the party and its candidates in Rivers State ahead of the 2027 polls.

He reiterated his administration’s commitment to completing ongoing projects and delivering more developmental interventions that improve the lives of Rivers people.
