President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed Nigeria’s unwavering commitment to peace, tolerance, and democratic values, declaring that the country’s stance against tyranny and extremism has made it a target of terrorist groups. Speaking at a national security summit in Abuja, the President emphasized that Nigeria’s strength lies in its moral resolve and inclusive governance.

“Nigeria is despised by terrorists not because we are weak, but because we have chosen tolerance over tyranny,” President Tinubu stated. “We reject the ideologies of hate and violence. We stand for unity, freedom, and the dignity of every Nigerian.”

The summit, attended by top security chiefs, civil society leaders, and international partners, focused on strategies to combat terrorism, strengthen community resilience, and promote national cohesion. Tinubu’s remarks underscored the ideological battle at the heart of Nigeria’s fight against insurgency.

He praised the efforts of the Armed Forces and local vigilante groups in reclaiming territories and restoring peace in previously volatile regions, while calling for continued vigilance and collaboration across all sectors.

“Our enemies seek to divide us, but we will not be broken,” he said. “We must continue to build a nation where every citizen feels safe, valued, and free to worship, speak, and live without fear.”

The President also announced new investments in counter-terrorism intelligence, border security, and youth empowerment programs aimed at addressing the root causes of radicalization.
