President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended heartfelt congratulations to Vice President Kashim Shettima and renowned economist Dr. Iyabo Masha on their conferment as Fellows of the Nigerian Economic Society (NES), recognizing their outstanding contributions to economic policy, research, and national development.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu described the honour as a testament to their “exemplary service, intellectual depth, and unwavering commitment to Nigeria’s socio-economic transformation.” The NES Fellowship, conferred on September 8, celebrates individuals whose work has significantly shaped Nigeria’s economic landscape.
President Tinubu praised Vice President Shettima for his visionary leadership and strategic foresight, particularly in advancing the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda. “Your dedication to inclusive growth, job creation, and sustainable development reflects the spirit of excellence our administration upholds,” the President stated.
Dr. Iyabo Masha, Director of the Intergovernmental Group of Twenty-Four (G-24) and former member of Nigeria’s Presidential Economic Advisory Council (2019–2022), was also lauded for her role in shaping national economic policy. Tinubu commended her for her “passion, innovation, and service to Nigeria’s economic progress,” calling her recognition “well-deserved and inspirational to young economists across the country.”
