The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has announced a significant breakthrough in its ongoing nationwide counter-terrorism operations. In a press briefing held today in Abuja, the Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Markus Kangye, revealed that troops of the Armed Forces of Nigeria successfully neutralized numerous terrorists, apprehended 85 suspects, and rescued 66 kidnapped victims across multiple regions during the month of August.

Troops recovered a large cache of arms, ammunition, vehicles, motorcycles, and explosives. These operations are part of a broader strategy to dismantle terrorist networks and restore peace and stability nationwide.

“During the month under review, troops have continued to intensify joint operations aimed at neutralizing threats to national security, restoring stability, and safeguarding the lives and property of citizens,” said Maj. Gen. Kangye.
