In a significant political development, several members of the Enugu State Executive Council have publicly declared their support for Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah ahead of his anticipated defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The declaration was made in a video shared on Monday by Dan Nwomeh, the Governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Media, via his official X (formerly Twitter) account. In the video, top cabinet officials were seen hoisting APC flags and chanting slogans in solidarity with the Governor’s imminent move to the ruling party.

Nwomeh captioned the video with: “Government House has realigned and connected to the centre. APCeee! Progress! Tomorrow is here!”, signaling a strategic shift in the state’s political alignment.

Governor Mbah, who was elected under the PDP banner, is expected to formally announce his defection to the APC on Tuesday, October 14, 2025. The move is seen as part of a broader realignment aimed at strengthening ties with the federal government and enhancing development opportunities for Enugu State.

In a related development, the Enugu State APC has dissolved all ward executives across the state, a move confirmed by Dr. Ben Nwoye, the newly inaugurated Caretaker Chairman of the party. This restructuring is believed to be in preparation for Governor Mbah’s formal entry into the party and the anticipated influx of new members.
