Senator Magnus Abe today thanked President Bola Tinubu for nominating him as the new Chairman of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC). This comes after President Tinubu sent Abe's name to the Senate for confirmation, along with other board members.
Abe, who once represented Rivers South-East in the Senate, called the appointment a reward for his loyalty and hard work. "I am deeply grateful to President Tinubu for this honor," Abe said. "It shows his commitment to bringing experienced people into key roles to help Nigeria's oil sector grow."
The nomination is part of a larger list where Tinubu also named 20 others for NUPRC and NMDPRA boards. FCT Minister Nyesom Wike also praised the President for choosing Abe and others from Rivers State.
Abe promised to work hard in his new role to improve regulation in Nigeria's upstream petroleum industry. The Senate is expected to review and confirm the nominees soon.
