In a landmark event celebrating tradition, community leadership, and service to the people, prominent Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain in Ogun State and Convener of The Alternative Movement, Otunba Segun Showunmi, has been conferred with the prestigious chieftaincy title of Odofin of Keesi.
The installation ceremony took place on Wednesday in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, at Keesi land recognized as the birthplace of the PDP leader. The title of Odofin ranks as the second-highest traditional authority in the Keesi hierarchy, underscoring the high esteem in which Otunba Showunmi is held by his community.
The event was graced by distinguished traditional rulers, community elders, political associates, and well-wishers. The installation was performed by the Apena Keesi and Baagbimo of Egbaland, Chief Akanni Israel, in accordance with longstanding customs and traditions of the land.
