Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has issued a strong warning that he will publicly name politicians he claims are sponsoring or backing the armed groups responsible for the recent abduction of students and teachers in Oyo State.

In a statement released today, Igboho addressed the kidnapping incident in the Oriire Local Government Area, where gunmen attacked several schools, abducted dozens of pupils and teachers, and killed at least one teacher. He accused certain politicians of providing financial and logistical support to the criminals.

“I know the politicians behind them,” Igboho said. “They are the ones giving them money and ammunitions. If the politicians behind them don’t stop, I am going to name all of them because I know them.”

The activist further claimed that these actions are part of a larger plot to destabilize the current administration, drawing parallels to past political crises. He also reiterated his readiness to lead a security operation through his proposed Iru Ekun Security Network to rescue the victims and flush out bandits from Yoruba forests, provided he receives official approval from the Federal Government and Southwest governors.

The abduction, which occurred on May 15, 2026, involved attacks on Baptist Nursery and Primary School in Yawota, Community Grammar School in Esiele, and L.A. Primary School in Ahoro-Esinele. Many of the abducted children and teachers remain in captivity, triggering widespread protests, teacher strikes, and public outrage across the Southwest.

Igboho urged the Oyo State Government and relevant authorities to act decisively, questioning why permission has not been granted for his group to assist in rescue efforts.
