As Muslims across Nigeria and the world commemorate Eid-el-Maulud, the birth of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has called on residents of Abuja to reflect deeply on the Prophet’s teachings and embody the values of peace, compassion, and togetherness.
In a heartfelt message to mark the occasion, Wike extended warm greetings to the Muslim Ummah and emphasized the significance of Eid-el-Maulud as a time for spiritual reflection and communal harmony.
“Eid-el-Maulud is not just a celebration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad,” Wike stated. “It is an opportunity for us to come together as residents of the FCT to uphold our commitment to values of acceptance, love, and kindness that the Prophet preached.”
The Minister commended the people of Abuja for their continued cooperation and peaceful coexistence, which he said has enabled the FCT Administration to make meaningful progress in infrastructure, healthcare, and public services. He also expressed gratitude to law enforcement agencies, healthcare workers, and essential service providers for their dedication to keeping the city safe and functional.
Wike reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving the quality of life for all residents and urged citizens to play their part by obeying traffic regulations, paying taxes, and participating in civic activities.
“As we celebrate this day, I urge you all to extend a hand of friendship, reach out to your neighbors regardless of their background or beliefs, and foster a sense of community,” he added.
The Minister also called for prayers for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, acknowledging his support for the FCT and his efforts toward national development.
