Football legend Lionel Messi has reached a monumental milestone, recording his 400th career assist during Inter Miami’s emphatic 4-0 victory over Nashville SC in the Major League Soccer Cup Playoffs decider at Chase Stadium.

Messi, 38, delivered a masterclass performance, scoring a first-half brace before assisting Tadeo Allende for Miami’s fourth goal of the night. This historic assist not only sealed the win but also marked Messi as the only active player to achieve 400 career assists, placing him just four shy of Ferenc Puskás’ all-time record.

Messi’s playoff form has been nothing short of sensational, with 5 goals and 2 assists in just 3 matches, adding to his 29 goals and 19 assists from the regular season. Inter Miami now advances to the Eastern Conference semifinal against FC Cincinnati, scheduled for November 22.

Speaking after the match, Messi expressed gratitude to his teammates and fans: “Every assist is a reflection of teamwork. I’m proud to reach this milestone and share it with the people who’ve supported me throughout my journey.”
