The United Kingdom’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) has issued a renewed travel advisory warning British nationals against all travel to six Nigerian states due to rising insecurity, terrorism, and violent crime.

According to the FCDO, these regions are experiencing heightened threats from armed groups, including Boko Haram and bandit networks, as well as increased incidents of kidnapping, intercommunal violence, and attacks on humanitarian personnel.

“The security situation in parts of northern Nigeria remains volatile and dangerous. We urge British citizens to avoid travel to these areas and to remain vigilant across the country,” the advisory stated.

The UK government emphasized that attacks can occur with little or no warning, targeting public places, transport hubs, religious gatherings, and government institutions.

This advisory follows recent security incidents and reflects ongoing concerns about the safety of foreign nationals in northern Nigeria.
