The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) today confirmed a significant reduction in the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, at its retail outlets across Abuja.
Effective immediately, the new price stands at ₦835 per litre, down from the previous ₦915 per litre, representing an ₦80 adjustment. This move is part of NNPCL's ongoing efforts to ensure affordable and competitive fuel pricing for Nigerians amid evolving market dynamics.
This latest price cut marks the third reduction by NNPCL in December 2025, following adjustments on December 4 and December 10. The decision comes in response to intensified competition within the Nigerian fuel market, particularly from the Dangote Refinery, which recently lowered its ex-depot price to ₦699 per litre.
By aligning retail prices more closely with market realities, NNPCL aims to alleviate the financial burden on consumers while maintaining high standards of product quality and availability.

NNPCL retail stations in other regions, such as Lagos, have also seen slight variations, with prices ranging from ₦838 to ₦840 per litre at select locations like Igando. The company assures the public that supply chains remain robust, with no disruptions anticipated.
Motorists and transporters are advised to patronize licensed NNPCL outlets to ensure they receive genuine products at the revised rates.
