In a successful joint operation, Nigerian troops have rescued eight kidnapped victims from a notorious bandits' hideout in Badurum Kasa Forest, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The operation, conducted on January 28, involved troops from Sector 7 of Operation OPEP, in collaboration with the Zango Kataf Police Area Command, Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), Forest Guards, and local hunters.
All victims were rescued unharmed and immediately evacuated from the forest for medical attention and reunification with their families. The rescued individuals have been identified as Abdullahi Saleh (38), Mai Albarka Haruna (17), Mary Nuhu (32), Charity Nuhu (35), Abubakar Wakili (25), and others.
The hideout was linked to notorious bandit leader Kachalla Alti, marking a significant blow to criminal elements in the region.
This rescue operation highlights ongoing efforts by Nigerian security forces to combat banditry and kidnapping in northern Nigeria, where such incidents have plagued communities.
