Tottenham Hotspur Football Club today announces that Thomas Frank has been relieved of his duties as Head Coach of the Men's First Team, effective immediately.
This decision follows a challenging period for the team, marked by just two wins in the last 17 Premier League matches. The recent 2-1 home defeat to Newcastle United has left Spurs in 16th place in the league table, five points above the relegation zone.
Despite a promising start to his tenure, including guiding the club to a fourth-place finish in the Champions League group stage, the overall domestic performance has not met the expectations set for the season.
Frank was appointed in June 2025 on a three-year contract, succeeding Ange Postecoglou, with the aim of building on the club's ambitions for sustained success.
Over his eight months in charge, the team secured 11 wins across all competitions but suffered early exits from both domestic cups and endured an eight-game winless streak in the Premier League.
The club had been committed to providing Frank with the necessary time and resources to implement his vision, but recent results necessitated this change to safeguard the team's position and future prospects.
Club Chairman Daniel Levy commented: "We appointed Thomas with high hopes, drawn to his proven track record and innovative approach. While we appreciate his efforts and the positive moments during his time here, the board believes a change is essential at this juncture to reinvigorate the squad and push towards our goals. We thank Thomas for his dedication and wish him all the best in his future endeavors."
In the interim, Assistant Head Coach Ryan Mason will take charge of the First Team, supported by the existing coaching staff, as the club begins the process of identifying a permanent successor.
Tottenham Hotspur remains focused on the remainder of the season, with upcoming fixtures providing an opportunity to climb the table and compete strongly in Europe.
