Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has issued a strong charge to Nigeria’s security chiefs, urging them to end terrorism and insecurity in the country within 90 days or resign their positions.Speaking during a Holy Ghost Service, Pastor Adeboye expressed serious concern over the worsening security situation and called on the Federal Government to set a clear and firm deadline for the service chiefs.
If I were asked to make suggestions, I would say quietly to our government: move fast and tell our security chiefs, get rid of these terrorists within 90 days or resign,” Pastor Adeboye stated.
He emphasized the need for decisive action that goes beyond operations in the field to include cutting off the financial lifelines and powerful sponsors behind terrorist activities. The cleric stressed that the protection of Nigerian lives must be the top priority, regardless of whose interests are affected.
Pastor Adeboye noted that he had given similar counsel to previous administrations and expressed hope that this time, the advice would be acted upon with urgency and seriousness. His comments come as banditry, kidnapping, and terrorist attacks continue to plague several parts of the country, heightening public anxiety and calls for better security.
The RCCG continues to intercede in prayer for the nation and for those entrusted with the responsibility of safeguarding the lives and property of citizens.
