Popular Nigerian comedian, actor, and former Big Brother Naija housemate, Aderombi Adedayo Martins, popularly known as DeeOne, has emerged as the candidate of the Boot Party (BOOT) for the Ibeju-Lekki Constituency I seat in the Lagos State House of Assembly ahead of the 2027 general elections.

DeeOne secured the party’s nomination after winning the BOOT Party primary election held for the constituency. The announcement marks his formal entry into active politics as he seeks to represent the people of Ibeju-Lekki at the state legislative level.

In his reaction to the victory, DeeOne expressed deep gratitude to party leaders and members for the trust reposed in him. He pledged to serve with humility, dedication, and a focus on addressing the developmental needs of the fast-growing Ibeju-Lekki area, including infrastructure, education, and youth empowerment.

“I am deeply honoured by this opportunity. This is not just about politics; it is about service to my people. Ibeju-Lekki deserves effective representation, and I am ready to bring fresh ideas, energy, and accountability to the Lagos State House of Assembly,” DeeOne stated.

The constituency is currently represented by an All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmaker who also serves as the Deputy Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly. DeeOne’s emergence under the BOOT Party adds a vibrant dimension to the political contest in the area.

Known for his comedic skits and social commentary, DeeOne has built a significant following through entertainment and public engagement. His transition into politics reflects a growing trend of entertainers seeking to contribute to governance and public service in Nigeria.
