Senator Ali Ndume, representing Borno South, has acknowledged the widespread anger among Nigerians due to current economic hardships and governance challenges, but expressed confidence that the situation can be corrected ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics programme, the outspoken lawmaker admitted that public frustration is visible and real, particularly with the administration of President Bola Tinubu. However, he emphasized the potential for positive change.
“Actually, I know that Nigerians are angry. I can see it but these things can be corrected, and President Bola Tinubu is willing, and we are hoping that things come up,” Senator Ndume stated.
Ndume’s comments come amid growing national discourse on the performance of the current administration, with many citizens expressing dissatisfaction over economic policies, rising cost of living, and insecurity. He noted that while anger is palpable, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the President remain committed to addressing these issues to improve the living conditions of Nigerians.
The Senator warned that the APC must take necessary steps and make adjustments to regain public confidence as the country prepares for the 2027 polls. He expressed optimism that with the right interventions, the ruling party can still make a strong case to Nigerians.
Senator Ndume reiterated his belief in the resilience of the Nigerian people and the capacity of the current leadership to turn things around through deliberate policy actions and good governance.
