In a spectacular grand finale filled with glamour, culture, and purpose, Tamunosoye Karibi-George, representing Bayelsa State, was crowned Miss World Nigeria 2026 at the Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos.
The 26-year-old beauty queen from Port Harcourt triumphed over 20 outstanding finalists in a competition themed “Pride, Power, and Purpose.” Karibi-George impressed judges and the audience with her elegance, intelligence, and a breathtaking national costume titled “Amazon of the Mangrove,” which beautifully highlighted the rich cultural heritage, resilience, and natural beauty of the Niger Delta region.
As the newly crowned queen, Tamunosoye Karibi-George will represent Nigeria at the 73rd Miss World Festival, scheduled to take place in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. She succeeds Joy Raimi and brings a passionate advocacy focus on the inclusion and empowerment of children with special needs.
“I am deeply honored and humbled to carry the flag of Nigeria on the global stage,” said Miss World Nigeria 2026, Tamunosoye Karibi-George. “This crown is not just mine it belongs to every young woman in Bayelsa, the Niger Delta, and across Nigeria who dreams big and works hard.
