Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, representing Ondo South Senatorial District, today called on all Nigerians to rally behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's comprehensive reform agenda. He emphasized that collective support remains essential for achieving national stability, economic growth, and enhanced security.
In a statement released on Friday, Senator Ibrahim highlighted the administration's proactive measures since President Tinubu assumed office in May 2023. These reforms address long-standing challenges and position Nigeria for sustainable development. "No nation enjoys absolute sovereignty. From pandemics to cross-border threats, global challenges demand collaboration and vigilance," Senator Ibrahim stated.
Senator Ibrahim pointed to key economic initiatives, including the removal of the petrol subsidy, unification of the exchange rate, and efforts to attract foreign investment. On the security front, the administration overhauls systems to combat banditry, terrorism, and other threats, aiming to create safer communities nationwide.
Drawing lessons from global history, Senator Ibrahim noted that the United States has conducted 469 military interventions since 1798, with 251 occurring since 1991. He commended President Tinubu for securing Nigeria's borders while fostering economic expansion. "The President’s vision ensures security, economic expansion, and opportunities for all. Love for our country must guide us through these defining moments," he added.
Despite short-term hardships sparking debates, Senator Ibrahim stressed that these reforms pave the way for long-term prosperity. "With shared determination and support for ongoing reforms, the country is well-positioned to strengthen its security architecture, grow its economy, and assert itself as a formidable force in world affairs," he concluded.
